Efficient modeling of mistuned blade aeroelasticity using fully-coupled two-scale method

نویسندگان

چکیده

Blade-to-blade variations, known as mistuning, significantly affect the turbomachinery aeroelastic performance. Typically mistuning is observed to be beneficial for flutter stability but detrimental forced response. In some unconventional cases however, may even result in a benefit response reported by researchers. Many previous studies indicated that neglecting mistuning-induced changes aerodynamic forcing and damping would lead erroneous results. To include these effects, natural approach perform fully-coupled multi-passage simulation. However, it apparent this need higher simulation cost. paper we propose an efficient two-scale method simulations. The validity effectiveness of demonstrated case mistuned bladerow. proposed methodology shown one order magnitude faster than baseline fine-mesh simulations, while having similar accuracy.

Torsional Aeroelasticity of a Flexible VAWT Blade using a Combined Aerodynamic Method by Considering Post-stall and Local Reynolds Regime

The present research investigates the torsional aeroelasticity of the blade of an H-type vertical axis wind turbine subject to stall and post-stall conditions in various Reynolds regimes, which is experienced by the blade in a full revolution. In order to simulate the aerodynamics, a new model based on a combination of the Double Multi Streamtubes (DMST) model and the nonlinear multi-criteria C...

buckling of viscoelastic composite plates using the finite strip method

Forced response of mistuned bladed disks using reduced-order modeling

A reduced-order model formulation is presented for examining the forced response of tuned and mistuned bladed disks. The technique developed uses modal information obtained from highly detailed finite element models to create, in a systematic manner, much simpler and computationally inexpensive models of bladed disks. The small size of the reduced-order model and associated computational saving...

Reduced Order Modeling for Nonlinear Vibration Analysis of Mistuned Multi-Stage Bladed Disks with a Cracked Blade

In this paper, a novel modeling methodology for the nonlinear vibration analysis of multi-stage bladed disk systems with small blade-to-blade mistuning and a cracked blade is proposed. The modeling strategy is based on an e cient stage-wise reduced order modeling method based on cyclic-symmetry analysis and component mode synthesis. Reduced order models are constructed for individual stages and...

Simulation of Non-synchronous Blade Vibration of an Axial Compressor Using a Fully Coupled Fluid/strcuture Interaction

In this paper non-synchronous vibration (NSV) of a GE axial compressor is simulated using a fully coupled fluid/strcuture interaction (FSI). Time accurate NavierStokes equations are solved with a system of 5 decoupled structure modal equations in a fully coupled manner. A 3rd order WENO scheme for the inviscid flux and a 2nd order central differencing for the viscous terms are used to resolve n...
